Wild Goose Qigong Basic Training has two parts, the first 64 movements and the second 64 movements. There are many other Wild Goose Qigong forms. However, beginners usually start with the first 64 movements of the Basic Training which is a very comprehensive qigong form and excellent for daily practise to promote health and well-being. Usually the first 64 movements are practised for some time before moving on to the second 64. When both have been learned, they can be practised as a single sequence since the second begins where the first left off.
Both forms are very graceful and mimic the movements of the wild goose. The ancient daoists in the Kunlun Mountains of China watched the movements of the wild geese (renowned for their grace, stamina and long life) and based these qigong forms on their observations.
Dr. Bingkun Hu, a Medical Qigong Master, will be teaching the second 64 movements for the first time in the UK in August 2008. Although most people begin with the first 64 movements, there is no problem in starting with the second 64. Since Dr. Bingkun Hu only comes to UK once a year, it is well worth taking advantage of this workshops if you are interested in Wild Goose Qigong.
Dr. Bingkun Hu will firstly be teaching a workshop on the Principles of Wild Goose Qigong which will include movements from Wild Goose Basic Training (first 64 movements) and from the Spiral and Tripod form. There are also students of Dr. Bingkun Hu and other masters teaching Wild Goose Basic Training in theUK.
